In our day to day life,
taking a measurement of almost everything has become quite an inevitable task.
In machinery terminology, metrology is the study of measurement covering both
the theoretical and experimental aspects of measurement and then it determines
whether these aspects have any uncertainty or incongruity.
As a matter of fact,
metrology is the most fundamental need in any field of science and technology
and this sort of requirement is very important in the field of engineering and
manufacturing. It should be noted that metrology means studying the measurement
which means it enforces, validates and confirms predefined quality/standards
for traceability, accuracy, reliability, and precision.

laboratories.

with the relationship among variables while in theoretical aspect, it involves
different concepts and principles underlying the study. The three subfields
metrology is divided into are – fundamental metrology, industrial metrology,
and legal metrology.
